Lumberjacks skidded logs down Yesler Street, to a mill at the bottom of the hill, and saloons and brothels lined the street. The Underground Tour explores these now subterranean storefronts. Today the neighborhood is filled with art galleries, small shops, restaurants, and bars and clubs, many featuring live music.

Seattle Center – Part amusement park, part festival grounds, the center hosts The Bite of Seattle, Bumbershoot and many other popular festivals. Permanent fixtures of this 74-acre park include the Seattle Opera, Intiman Theater, Paul Allen’s Experience Music Project, the Pacific Science Center and the Space Needle.

Driving Directions:

Follow State Route 518 Eastbound to Interstate 5 Northbound (Seattle). Take the Seneca Street exit (exit will be on your left). Turn right immediately onto 6th Avenue. Drive north on 6th Avenue for two blocks. The hotel is on the right. Turn right into the entrance for valet parking and drop-off.

Airport Transportation Options:

The Link Light Rail - The newly opened SeaTac/Airport Station is connected to the fourth floor of the Airport Garage. Trains arrive and depart on the platform level of the station approximately every 7 ½ to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. The covered walkway to the Airport Terminal is one level down on the mezzanine. The well-lit walkway is separated from the main area of the garage and directional signs point the way to the Main Terminal skybridge. Wheelchair service is available. The Link light rail runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 6:00 a.m to midnight on Sunday.

Gray Line Downtown Airporter - Downtown Airporter by Gray Line serves the Airport outside Door 00 on the Baggage Claim (lower) level. Departs twice an hour from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with service to and from major downtown Seattle hotels including the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. Green Meetings & Sustainability

Overview Description:

The Sheraton Seattle Hotel's entire Sales Team participates in “paperless meeting planning”, which involves the use of current electronic sales tools as available to reduce the amount of paper generated throughout the meeting planning process. These tools include StarGroups, Reservation Connection, Reservation Cross Check, Online Floor plans and capacity charts, and eMenus. As an alternative to bottled water at your meetings, water bubblers can be provided, resulting in a significant reduction in waste and packaging. Meeting planners can provide attendees with a logo’d conference water bottle at registration, inviting them to participate in the green movement. Eating at your meeting can be green as well. Sustainable banquet menus are available for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and refreshment breaks. Sustainably grown products emphasize local and regional farming, managed fishing, and goods that are free of growth hormones, toxic pesticides and fertilizers.

Security Officers

The Hotel employees a uniformed, in-house, full-service security department 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. All Security staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid. All Security staff members are equipped with two-way radios. Upgraded CCTV system in use. Upgraded alarm system in use. Strict key control procedures in effect. Safe Deposit boxes are provided to all guests free of charge. Available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Safes are available in all guestrooms. Access to building restricted “after-hours”. TDD / TTY phones in Security Dispatch and Communications Offices. Hotel complies with AAA Security Standards. Hotel complies with ADA guidelines. Parking facility is well lit, and is equipped with panic alarms. Refresher training for all employees is on going.

Lost and Found

For all lost and found inquires, please call the hotel operator by dialing 0 or (206) 621-9000. All non valuables go to housekeeping and are disposed of within 30 days if not claimed. Any valuables found will be secured in our Security office and are kept for 90 days.

Fire Protection: Fire Panel is monitored by Engineering Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fire Panel has automatic link to local Fire Department. Sprinkler system throughout entire Hotel (guest rooms, hallways, meeting rooms, public areas). Hard-wired smoke detectors throughout entire Hotel (hallways, meeting rooms, public areas). Portable fire extinguishers (at marked locations). Fire alarms, visual fire alarms (strobes) located throughout entire building. Elevator recall activation for fire alarms (descends to a safe floor). Automatic fire doors in hallways that close in the event of a fire. Hotel conforms to local/state fire and safety laws. Hotel complies with Hotel & Motel Fire Safety Act.

Evacuation: Walkways and signs are well lit and free from obstacles. Emergency escape routes are posted on every guest room door. All stairwells are free from obstacles. All stairwell & exit signs are well lit. The hotel utilizes a Public Address (PA) System to communicate to all areas of hotel in an emergency. Hotel has written Emergency Evacuation Plan. Hotel staff trained annually in Emergency Procedures. Evacuation drills are conducted annually with hotel staff. Hotel is equipped with an emergency power generator for back-up lighting. All stairways and elevators are equipped with Braille signage

Guest Room Safety/Security Features: All guest room doors are equipped with the following: electronic locking device, peephole viewers, 1-inch deadbolt lock, secondary locking device – latch. All guest room doors automatically lock when closed. All guest room connecting doors are equipped with 1-inch deadbolt lock. All guest room phones have autodial emergency numbers posted. Strict guest room key issuance policy in effect including photo ID upon check-in. All guest rooms are equipped with smoke detectors and sprinklers (visual strobes available in ADA- equipped guestrooms).

Banners and Signs:

In order to maintain the attractive appearance of our public spaces, we ask you to adhere to the following guidelines when placing signage in our hotel:

  • Easels: Easels are required for placement of signage in meeting and event space areas. The use of pushpins, staples, nails, or duct tape is not permissible. Signs must be professionally printed and appropriate for public viewing. Handwritten signs and flipchart pads with writing are not permitted.
  • Banners: Banners or large signs may be placed inside your own assigned function space. All banners must be hung by PSAV based on your specific needs, and the cost is determined by the complexity of the job. Banner hanging must be arranged through your Catering or Convention Services Manager prior to your group arrival. For banners and signs hung from the ceiling of any banquet room, our exclusive rigging company PSAV must be contacted: (206) 464-1838

Shipping and Receiving:

In order to help expedite the timely delivery and return of packages, all boxes must be labeled with name of the group’s recipient (NOT the Hotel Sales or Service Manager), group name and the date of the program. A sample label is shown below. Please call or email your Catering or Convention Services Manager to provide them with the number of packages you are shipping, the method of shipping and expected delivery date to the Hotel. All packages will be held in the hotel package room until they are delivered to the designated room. In order to retrieve your packages, please contact the Bell Desk, Executive Meeting Specialist or a Banquet Captain. Packages can be retrieved 24 hours each day.

Handling Fees: The Sheraton Seattle Hotel assesses handling fees as follows:

  • For your convenience, charges will be posted to the guest room or group master account. Charges will appear on your final room bill as Business Center.
  • The hotel cannot store packages for more than three (3) days prior to or three (3) days after a program. A $30.00 per item, per day charge will be added if storage exceeds this time-frame.
  • Inbound Packages: 0 to 5 pounds - $ 8.00 each, 6 to 20 pounds - $14.00 each, 21 to 50 pounds - $19.00 each, over 50 pounds - $60.00 each, Crates - $85.00 each, Pallets - $135.00 each
  • Outbound Packages: $5.00 each (guests may use their own account or use Hotel’s service at an additional cost)
Exhibits:

Exhibit freight must be sent to the exhibit contractor’s drayage company. Hotel does not have storage space for creates, all freight cases must be removed by the exhibit contractor. Uniformed Guards will be required in Exhibit Areas at the expense of Group. Exhibitors and Group shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend Hotel and its servicing agents from all liability (damage or accident) which might ensue from any cause resulting or connected with transportation, placing, removal or display of exhibits. Group shall be responsible for obtaining any necessary Local Fire Department approvals of Exhibit plans. Group shall submit to Hotel a proof of the Exhibitor’s Contract before it is sent to the Exhibitors. Please see your Catering/Convention Services Manager to ensure the correct provisions are included.

AV & Technology

Audio Visual

Description
Presentation Services Audio Visual is the preferred partner of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel for full service, on-site audiovisual production. We are confident that PSAV will provide exceptional service for your event. PSAV also works closely with the hotel and meeting planner to make every effort to meet your budgetary requirements. All rigging must be scheduled through Presentation Services – Audio Visual Department, this is not a complimentary service. Minimums of 45-business days advance notice to request the Sheraton Seattle Hotel rigging staff is required. The Sheraton Seattle maintains a full service, on-site audiovisual production company through PSAV Presentation Services. The Hotel recognizes that certain guests/clients may elect to bring in a third party supplier of audiovisual services (“Third-Party Vendor”). The Sheraton Seattle and PSAV are able to meet any such request(s) provided the attached guidelines are followed and a copy of these guidelines are signed by the guest/client and the Third-Party Vendor and provided to the Hotel at least 30 days prior to the event. These guidelines have been developed to ensure the utmost safety and care for all guests of the Hotel and the Hotel premises, and to uphold a level of service and quality that is necessary to ensure a successful event.

Rigging

Description
All rigging at the Sheraton Seattle must be executed by PSAV. PSAV is responsible for the overhead safety of our guests and employees. PSAV will have the final authority in all matters relative to overhead and production safety. The Director of Event Technology has final authority over all other aspects of rigging and safety production.
