Airport Shuttle: Advance Search: There is an Airport Shuttle service on-site from the hotel to the nearest airport. Consider only courtesy shuttle services.
Parking Fees:

If you would like to self-park, please use the Long-Term Self-Parking entrance directly opposite the hotel entrance. Follow signs for Departures (Westin). The parking garage entrance will be on the left just past the hotel. Or, follow International Arrivals signs to the south end of the facility where you’ll see the entrance to the parking garage. After parking, go to the sixth level and walk over the bridge to the terminal side and follow signs to the hotel.

Overview Description: Metro Cab/Sedan Phone 734-946-8080 Terminal to Terminal Shuttle terminal to terminal shuttle service begins at 5:00 am and can be located to the right of the hotel front entrance. The shuttle is operated by the airport and runs every10 minutes. The Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport Hotel is conveniently located in the McNamara Terminal of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Guests flying into North Terminal should follow signs to the ground transportation level. of the airport. The Terminal-to-Terminal Shuttle is located outside the North terminal and runs every 15 minutes. Once on that shuttle it will drop them off at the front door of the Westin. Guests arriving into the McNamara Terminal (Delta, KLM and Northwest flights only) with carry on luggage only should make their way to gate A36 inside the McNamara Terminal. The Westin entrance is located directly across from this gate and next to McDonald’s. Guests with checked luggage arriving at the McNamara Terminal should proceed to baggage claim. Once the bag has been retrieved, travel up to ticketing/ departures level. The Westin entrance is located at the far south end of the departures/ ticketing level.

Policies & Procedures

Overview Description: housekeeping Housekeeping is available by dialing zero which will connect you to service express. 24 hours /7 days a week service is between 8am-5pm and upon request 24/7. The Westin offers the "Make a green choice" program for guests wanting to limit service in their rooms. guests may place the door hanger on the outside of their guestroom door prior to 2:00 am and housekeeping will not service the room. in turn the guests receive either a $5 voucher valid in DMEA restaurant or 500 spg points per day. this program is not valid for one night stays or on checkout day. When service is requested, towels that are left on the floor will be replaced. if a guest wants to have their sheets changed daily, there is a card in the room that should be placed on the bed to request services.
Banners and Signs: Professionally printed signage and banners can be strategically placed to capture your audience or advertise your meeting. Please consult your catering or convention services manager for prices and approved signage locations. signage can not be adhered to any wall without pre-approval of location and hanging material. It is suggested to use a poster like hanging putty or 3-M picture hanging backing that can peel off without damage.

Shipping and Receiving: The Westin hotel must adhere to all airport security measures and requires ALL inbound packages, equipment and supplies to be assessed by a secure TSA approved security checkpoint, (hotel dock) the dock must schedule a time INADVANCE of arrival of any deliveries. Directions to the dock: follows signs to the McNamara terminal, international arrivals level. the dock will be just after the international arrivals curb on the right hand side. The dock is operated by bradford logistics in conjunction with Wayne County Airport Authority. Fed Ex, UPS do not require dock times. Shipping to the hotel the hotel does not have storage space for crates, pallets or large shipments. Any materials to be sent to the hotel may arrive no earlier than 5 days prior to the group arrival date. A handling and storage fee of $75.00 per pallet, or $50 per crate /trunk/exhibit cases, or $5.00 for 0-5 lbs, $10 for 6-20lbs, $15 for 21-25lbs, $25 for 25lbs. The mandatory handling and storage fee is retained by the hotel and is not a tip, gratuity or service charge for employee providing the handling services. Hotel will not be responsible for any loss or damage to materials sent to the hotel prior to the group arrival date. Wired and wireless meeting space Internet The Westin is the exclusive provider for all internet needs. 1. Internet connectivity is either wired or wireless 2. Internet bandwidth is 10mb (mega bytes) but have the capabilities to go up to 45mb with advanced notice and charges 3. Can dedicate up to 50% of the hotels total bandwidth for any one function. Please contact your catering or convention service manager with questions and rate information.

Rigging

Description
Rigging and Overhead Safety PSAV is responsible for the overhead safety of our guests and employees. PSAV will have the final authority in all matters relative to overhead and production safety. the director of event technology has final authority over all other aspects of rigging and safety production exclusive rigging for the Westin is PSAV All ceiling hanging must be conducted with the Westin exclusive rigging staff. all equipment and materials flown must pass american test and standard measurement guidelines and be osha approved. final decisions about the safety limits of any item will reside solely with psav. the removal of ceiling tiles and access to the structure above the tiles is strictly prohibited. All rigging must be scheduled through presentation services - this is not a complimentary service. minimum of 45-business days advance notice to request the westin rigging staff is required.
