Located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, just 20 minutes from the Kansas City International Airport, the Kansas City Convention Facilities dominate the city skyline with its brilliant art deco pylons. Attendees are right in the heart of the city and just steps away from hotels, the Sprint Center and the Power and Light District.

Our catering team is pleased to do the leg work for arranging your off site event from securing the location to planning the decor and menus. The Westin Crown Center can cater at several different venues around town but have listed a few below. Don't forget to explore our planner's edge events which give you the experience of leaving the hotel without having to recreate the wheel. National World War One Museum at Liberty Memorial Impress your guests with a reception at the only monument dedicated to the First World War. The museum and grounds are within walking distance to the hotel and provides the perfect location for a reception or dinner. Rental and catering arrangments can be secured through your catering manager. Hallmark Visitors Center No trip to Kansas City is complete without experience a taste of our crown jewel; Hallmark. Your guests will love the interactive visitors center which provides a history of the Hallmark Company, hands on activities and rotating exhibits. Negro Leagues Baseball Museum The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is dedicated to preserving the rich history of african-american baseball. Transportation & Parking

Parking Fees:

We are pleased to offer both self and valet parking in our covered garage. Self-parking is available for a fee of 5 USD for 30 minutes or 13 USD for up to six hours. Six hours of valet parking is available for a fee of 16 USD. After six hours, overnight rates apply.

Please note that parking spaces are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. To enjoy unlimited in/out privileges make sure to charge parking to your guest room. We’re happy to recommend alternative locations for oversized vehicles.

Directions From Airport

Supershuttle Shuttle 800-258-3826 Supershuttle provides a shuttle service to and from the airport for guests of the Westin Crown Center. The shuttle departs the airport every 30 minutes between 5:35am until 12:05am. One way tickets are $18.00 and round-trip tickets are $31.00. Tickets may be purchased at the KCI information booth or on the shuttle. The KCI Shuttle ticket counters are located adjacent to most airline baggage claims areas. If duty personnel are away from the ticket counter, use the white airport courtesy telephone located near most telephone islands throughout the airport and dial 5000. Shuttles leaving for the airport may be boarded on the hotels front drive every 30 minutes and 40 minutes from approximately 4:30am to 6:30pm. No reservations are needed prior to 6:00pm. After 6:00pm reservations are required. All major cards are accepted.

Safety & Security

Security Officers Our security department operates 24 hours a day, patrolling the hotel and responding to guest needs and emergencies. Additional security information is posted inside each guest room. Specialized security arrangements for function rooms, equipment, and registration and traffic control are available with advanced notice through the conference planning manager. We can provide additional security at the rate of $44.00 per hour. Additional security is highly recommended for any meeting rooms, containing valuable equipment or merchandise overnight. Our Director of Security can arrange VIP protection. The hotel is not liable for any loss or damage incurred.
Lost and Found If a guest has misplaced an item, please instruct them to contact the hotel’s security department as soon as possible. The hotel is not responsible for any items left in rooms, vehicles or other hotel premises.
Medical Services The closest hospital is Truman Medical Center, located at 2301 Holmes, Kansas City, MO 64108, 816-556-3000. This is a Level 1 Trauma Center. Alternate hospitals include St. Luke’s at 4401 Wornall Road and North Kansas City Hospital at 2800 Clay Edwards Drive. Ambulance service in Kansas City is provided by Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST), located at 6750 Eastwood Trafficway. Their direct non-emergency number is 816-300-8802. The Kansas City Police Department non-emergency number is 816-234-5000.
Emergency Plan In case of a hotel emergency, please dial “3” on any phone. The Westin Crown Center security staff members receive basic CPR and first aid training from an American Red Cross-certified instructor on an annual basis. The hotel maintains an ongoing safety awareness program for all associates, including fire drills. A list of nearby hospitals is available upon request. Disabled guests will be given priority in the event of a hotel evacuation. Strobe lights and audible alarms are currently in all public space, as well as audible alarms and hard-wired smoke detectors and sprinklers in all guest rooms. Fire extinguishers are located on every level of the hotel for easy access. Guest evacuation routes and safety information are posted in all guest rooms.

Policies & Procedures

Banners and Signs: Need an attractive banner or sign for your conference or meeting? please advise your conference planning manager of any banners that need to be hung. A $25.00 charge for each banner per hanging will apply. please inform your conference planning manager at least 72 hours in advance. please be aware that banners may not be hung in the hotel lobby, however, they may be hung in the garden terrace and on the ballroom level of the hotel. all banners must be professionally made and maximum 3’ by 8’. Janus boards are located in the lobby, on the ballroom level and outside all main meeting rooms. please advise your conference planning manager if you would like your logo to appear on the Janus boards along with your meeting information. a $150.00 charge per conference will apply. the hotel will, unless otherwise instructed, post your program daily on the Janus boards. Broadcasting services are available on a select channel that will be displayed in all hotel guest rooms at a one time charge of $500.00.
Certificate of Insurance: Each party will maintain insurance sufficient to cover any claims or liabilities which may reasonably arise out of or relate to its obligations under the contract and will provide evidence of such insurance upon request. Outside vendors and decorators must have certificate of insurance on file thirty (30) days prior to move in. certificate should be sent to the attention of the conference planning/catering manager assigned to you.

Shipping and Receiving: The nearest u.s. post office is located at union station. There is mail pick-up 2 times daily at the hotel, at 10:00am and 4:00pm. Please see guest services to drop off mail. We also offer fed- ex drop off and pick-ups.
Exhibits: All fire and safety regulations and procedures of the city of Kansas City must be followed without exception. These include scaled diagrams submitted for fire marshall approval, exhibit show permits, fire watches for events involving hazing and permits for use of combustible materials in exhibits. In the event that you do not notify your catering/convention services manager of your special needs for your event and the appropriate permits are not secured for your event, you may be unable to incorporate these special needs in your program. In addition to these permits, security may be required. Please see the "security" portion of this site for additional information. In the event that a decorator is utilized for your exhibits, they are responsible to make sure that set-up and tear down of your exhibits adheres to hotel guidelines. the decorator is responsible for the general cleanliness of the exhibit area such as vacuuming and trash removal. All trash created by the decorator during the set-up and tear-down is to be removed by the decorator. The Westin Crown Center is responsible for cleaning any items related to food and beverage functions sponsored by the group or individual exhibitors provided by the hotel. All crates, boxes and additional equipment must be removed from the exhibit area prior to the show. All freight must be transported on dollies and not pushed on the hotel carpet. Exhibits and displays must be contained within the contracted assigned function event space areas. Materials such as screnery drapes and decor must be flame retardant. Hazardous demonstrations such as welding, cooking or heating will not be permitted without a permit from the Kansas City fire marshall. Exhibits in pre-function and foyer spaces may be limited in number due to strict fire marshall codes. Any items to be placed in these areas must be approved by the hotel prior to set-up. Minimum aisle width requirements and occupancy limits must be adhered to at all times. All motorized vehicles in event space such as cars, trucks, watercraft, atv's and motorcycles must have the battery disconnected. The fuel supply in the vehicle must be registered at 1/8 of a tank or less. All vehicle's tanks with fuel must have a locking gas cap or must be sealed with tape. Vehicles on display must sit on visquene or carpet designed to protect the hotel carpet from damage. Vehicles must be clean and runners must be placed for move-in and move-out that consist of visquene and plywood. A key to the vehicle must be provided to the hotel security department. Please note no food or beverage is permitted to be brought from the outside and distributed at booths on the trade show floor. All food and beverage must be provided by the Westin Crown Center.

If your event requires any special electrical needs for exhibitors, bands, or special equipment, we will be happy to complete those arrangements for you with the help of our engineering department. We will share all cost information with you as soon as you inform us of your specific needs.

IT & Telecommunications

The Westin Crown Center is the exclusive provider for all telecommunication needs. Special requests should be received sixty days (60) prior to move in date. All other requests should be received forty-five (45) days prior to move in.
